Optimal design of piping system represented by 3-dimensional beam model with inertia mass elements

Mechanical snubbers and inertia mass dampers are known as vibration control devices that have elements generate the inertial resistance force. By adding with to piping systems, we aim reduce various responses of systems subject seismic disturbances. In this study, propose a design method optimize parameters installed on system is modelled by 3-dimensional beam finite element model some tangent curved pipe achieve good dynamic while maintaining structural integrity dampers. A performance index considering specifications related mitigation for earthquake disturbances economic cost installation inequality constraints defined. Design number size (capacity) dampers, value its mass, placement (node attitude) The optimized genetic algorithm. With simulation study represented model, show effectiveness proposed methodology.
